I started making photomontages in 2009 after seeing collage work of a German surrealist Max Ernst. After experimenting with “straight” photography for 6 years, I suddenly saw a way of re-cycling my photographs and a possibility of creating new realities from disparate fragments of the old ones. It came rather like a revelation – new creative door suddenly opened in front of me. That was when I started working on my first series of photomontages, you can see it here:

Around 2012 I started becoming more and more interested in magical and spiritual traditions of various cultures and it started seeping into my images. Photomontages you see below are from this period.
